every source in this file
Published 1 October 2026
Every claim in this file carries its source inline, where the claim is made. This page is the same list, gathered in one place: 105 citations across the prologue, eighteen chapters and the epilogue - the regulator's annual report and consultation paper, the insurers' own disclosures, ministry data, court reporting, market reports and the industry's own press releases.
The method is deliberate. Where a number could be checked against a primary document - the IRDAI Annual Report 2024-25, the 23 September 2026 consultation paper, LIC's annual report and analytical ratios, the regulator's penalty orders - the file cites the primary document. Where the fact is an event or a market move, it cites the dated report that recorded it: The Economic Times, Business Today, CNBC-TV18, Moneycontrol, Business Standard, The Hindu, The Times of India, The Tribune, the Indian Express. Where the regulator's own website did not surface a clean link to the September paper, the file cites a verified full-text mirror of the paper, downloaded and checked page by page against the reported contents. Two candidate links that failed verification - a mismatched IRDAI PDF and an unverifiable LIC URL - were caught and removed before publication. Nothing in this file rests on a source the file would not show you.
